MISSION STATEMENT

The New Milford Police Union’s mission is promote, elevate and improve working conditions, compensation and benefits of our Officers, Detectives and Sergeants.

As a charitable organization our goal is to give back to the New Milford community. Our duty is to continue to develop and strengthen a positive relationship with the citizens and organizations of New Milford. Through this we will make OUR community thrive.

The New Milford Police Union, COPS Local #47, is a Local Union Branch of the Connecticut Organization for Public Safety (COPS). COPS Local #47 is recognized by the Town of New Milford as the exclusive bargaining agent for the unit consisting of all full-time Police Officers within the New Milford Police Department, except officers of the grade of Lieutenant and above, on all matters of wages, hours, and conditions of employment.
