2020 RECIPIENTS

Alexandra Carroccio is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award. She will be attending Springfield College in the fall and plans to major in Health Science / Physical Therapy.

Alexandra has been a 3 year member of the NMHS Junior Varsity Softball Team, 3 year member of the NMHS Junior Varsity and Varsity Field Hockey Team, member of the 2020 Executive Club, 3 year member of the Student Advisory Board, 4 year volunteer at the Harrybrooke Haunted Trail and was a member of the NMHS Service Trip to Peru in 2018.

Also, during her High School career she has worked part time as a Dietary Aide at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center and a basketball scorekeeper for the New Milford Parks and Recreation Department.

Amanda Clark is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award.  She will be attending the University of Delaware in the fall and plans to major in Business/Human Resources.

Amanda was a member of the NMHS Cheerleading team for 2 years, a 4 year member of the NMHS Executive Club where she served as the Class of 2020 Secretary, 1 year member of the NMHS Interact Club and a 2 year member of the NMHS NAMES Club where she served as a Facilitator.  She has also volunteered for 3 years for the New Milford Bulls Cheerleading Team as a Demonstrator and 2 years she volunteered in the “Truth About Hate” Seminar at NMHS.

Also, during her High School career she has worked part time at Colesseo Restaurant.

Zachary Deakin is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award.  He will be attending Bryant College in the fall and plans to major in Marketing.  Zachary has been on the NMHS Principal Advisory Committee for 4 years, 2 year member for the NMHS Stocks Club, 1 year member of the NMHS Future Business Leaders of America Club and 1 year member of the NMHS Executive Club.  Zachary has been Student of the Month in Biology, Marketing and World Languages and also received High/Highest Honors multiple times during High School. 

Zachary has volunteered for 4 years at the St. Francis Rake and Bake, 1 year at Loaves and Fishes and 1 year at an Autism Awareness Event on the New Milford Green.  Zachary has also been an Usher at the St. Francis Church for 5 years. 

Also, during his High School career he has worked at numerous part time jobs in the Greater New Milford area.  He currently works at the New Milford Fitness and Aquatics as a Front Desk Associate and Child Watch Associate.

Alyssa Delaney is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award.  She will be attending Western Connecticut State University in the fall and plans to major in Nursing. 

Alyssa has been a member of the Washington Ambulance Association as an Emergency Medical Technician for 1 year, a 3 year member of the New Milford Youth Agency Advisory Board, 2 year member as a Freshman Mentor, 1 year member of the New Milford Youth Agency Board of Directors, 2 year member of the NMHS Safety Committee, 4 year member of the NMHS Executive Club and has been on the NMHS Honor Roll for 4 years.

Also, during her High School career she has worked as a Latchkey Counselor for the New Milford Youth Agency, The Maxx and has been a babysitter.

Jenna Epstein is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award.  She will be attending Penn State University in the fall and plans to major in Psychology. 

Jenna has been a 3 year member of the NMHS Color Guard, 5 year member of the NMHS All-School Musical, 1 year member of the NMHS Drama Club, volunteer for the National Honor Society Baby Products Drive and a 2 year volunteer at the NMHS Winter Percussion Home Show.  Jenna was captain of Color Guard for the 2019/2020 season and in 2019 was nominated for the “Gypsy Robe” Award.

Kristen Grabner is a recipient of the 2020 New Milford Police Union Scholarship Award.  She will be attending Western Connecticut State University in the fall and plans to major in Photography.

Kristen has been a 4 year member of the NMHS Marching Band – in her senior year she was the Drum Major, 2 year member of the NMHS “The Piper” Literacy Magazine, a 4 year member of set building crew and stage crew for the NMHS Musicals.  During Kristen’s senior year she served on the Senior Editorial Board.

Also, during her High School career she has worked part time at Tasty Waves.
